View Full Version : RMVB Problem again
Hello!
I noted that the lastest version (official one) have the same RM image problem that I reported quite sometime ago.
The image below is an example of what I get when I play an RM file but not all RM.
I've tested the rmvb in your last thread, but there is no problem with the latest version. We need a sample as usual. ;)
Hello!
That strange because it's the same file that I made the sample in my last thread on RM playing problem. I did not have any problem with the 2.9.1.1040 version (Blue icon) but when I upgrade the version to 2.9.1.1043 (Yellow icon), I get this problem with certain RM file

The problem is sloved when I select the internal video codec ---> real 2,3,4 option:)
Generally, I can't confirm anything but internal splitter and decoders, as it dosen't belong to KMP. If there is a bug with external filters like gabest's, it couldn't be helped. By the way, there will be another update soon.
I understand that the internal decoder does not belong to kmp. But I think that it is strange that in the previous (official) version or with other players that use decoder install on my system, I did not get this problem. Also I noted that kmp (actual official version) become unstable when I select the option Real 2,3,4:confused: So I am looking forward for the new update:D
As for now, I'm not much fan of external splitters, so I don't use it. All my testing results are based upon internal splitters and wrappers in case of real media decoders. By the way, Beta version is released but it'll takes some times to translate it. If you want to try the beta version, Click Here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).
PS. I've forgot to say that there will be another official release soon for an annoying bug with external splitters. From the next offical release, automatic updates from main server and direct download without login will be no more provided due to the massive network traffic which almost bring about the server down.
I personally think that the least codec installed on the system, the better it is. But Right now there are so much video format around so i have to install some (/many) codec to be able to watch them.
Also I wanted to know:
If there will be a KMP standalone in English?
If there is a codec pack that work well(or better) with KMP?
Will KMP playlist have a search option in the futur version?
P.S: You guys are doing an awersome work.
I wish to know what kinds of internal decoder or settings makes it unstable to play with kmp. I must say that codecs included within kmp are bascially almost the same as the external codec package if it is ffdshow or xvid except commercial one not bening allowed to be included indivisually as it's based on the same source. KMP always updates the latest cvs status of the codec like libavcodec of ffmpeg used in ffdshow, xvid in XviD decoder etc when it is released. As you may know, the latest does not always mean the most stable status. So if you have an experience of unstability when using internal splitters and decoders, I wish to know what part of KMP or configuration(ctrl-tab info) cause the problem. Because the major improvement depends on its own feature, not by external one, it's very improtant to make it clear which function is not worked normally.
Thanks for your concern, anyway.
If there will be a KMP standalone in English?
Well, maybe not. English version is my own work of translation, not by the developer. The initial release generally does not contain english pharses.
If there is a codec pack that work well(or better) with KMP?
I have not installed an evil codec pack ever until now. :p
Will KMP playlist have a search option in the futur version?
Are you using KMP as a music player?
Right now there are so much video format around so i have to install some (/many) codec to be able to watch them.
Can you let me know what on earth kinds of decoders you are using which is not packed in kmp?
Hello
Why do I want a search option in the playlist?
To make it short I want to use only one player for both my video and music.I also think that the search option would be quite useful in long video playlist.
For the unstability question:
It's with the actual official version when I put the real 2,3,4 option on ,i can play the rm file that I was experincing the image problem but when I want to close KMP, my computer freeze (or stop to respond). By the way I downloaded the Beta version, I am too sure of what I was clicking on but it can play the RM file perfectly.
about English version question:
So it's not the developer work.I have to say that you are doing an awersome work in allowing this great player (KMP) to come in English version. Thanks alot!
Format of video:
I can't really say which format that is not in KMP because I don't know that is exactlly packed with KMP. But recently I received a few clips in 3GP format.(Format use in moblie phone)

It's really simple to figure out. Just cut it off about 2~4Mbyte and attach here. Personally, I recommend not to install a whole codec pack and find the necessary codecs for yourself. The number of codecs which you need may not exceed five at most. The playback coverage of kmp is so extensive that you don't need to install the fat boy. Finally, your system could be messed up and uncontrollable.
The 3GP format uses Quicktime codec to play.I used videoinspector to determine what codec was needed:D Thanks anyway
I agree that installing a lot codec on a system will cause the system to become unstable or even freeze but I think that why codec pack exist, To avoid the installation of codec that are in conflict when install together. My guess is that codec pack are here to provide a easy solution to video viewer like me. But I have to accept that not all codec pack are ok, they are some that are really evil.
When selecting another decoder in the external decoder section of KMP, must I restart to program before the selected decoder is use?
When selecting another decoder in the external decoder section of KMP, must I restart to program before the selected decoder is use?
Nope. If you don't mind, I'd like to verify if it's possible to play some sample from you with kmp only. And there already exists an excellent analyzing tool in kmp. Havn't you heard Mediainfo ([Only registered and activated users can see links])?
* The formats of tested MOV samples with mp4/mov internal splitter(directshow) : MOV[AVC1+AAC] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), MOV[CVID+PCM], MOV[SVQ1+ARAW] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), MOV[SVQ3+QDM2] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), MOV[SVQ3+MP3] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), MOV[MP4V+AAC] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), MOV[CVID+TWOS] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), MOV[RLE+AAC] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), MOV[SVQ1+IMA4] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), MOV[SVQ3+IMA4] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), MOV[SVQ3+QCLP], MOV[Flash]
For playing above mov files, I do not install any additional decoders. If you want to paly real/quicktime materials, the 3rd way is the best(and maybe stable) way in here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). After copying real decoders under kmp folder it's required to enable real items in Internal Video/Audio decoder sections of Preferences and change real splitter to KMP internal RM splitter.
Ok,Here is the analyze by mediainfo of a 3GP file:

Why are these files wmpui.dll,wmploc.dll & MPlayer.dl missing in KMP?N what are their purpose?
wmpui.dll,wmploc.dll -- visualization library of windows media player(maybe component of directx 8)
MPlayer.dll -- extra stuff(there are so many extra stuffs in kmp :))
These files are not included, as it's not necessary for playback.
Can you attach the sample? I'm a bit curious about AMR-NB. If you'd not like to be exposed for private reason, what about PM to me? :D
By the way, I find 3gp sample by browing internet composed of H.263 and AMR-NB. I try it with kmp and I can confirm it is possible to play the content with kmp only.

What can we say more about KMP?It's an awersome player:D
Ooooh! You looks like embarrassing. :p I didn't say something about you. ;)
