View Full Version : (fixed) The Old-New subtitle problem
Hi Z.
Do you remember the Karas subtitles I posted and I couldnt even load them and you could? ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).
Now with the new version of kmp (2.9.1.1045) - the subtitles load:) But they are kinnda weird...look at the timings :(
Can you please check the subtitles again?
Thank you
Your screenshoot still seems to be weird.
Most of all, the timing of subtitles is totally worng in your case. It could be a very trivial thing. We should trace it to solve the problem. But, I have no idea for the present.
Thank you for your effort z.
Can anybody try these subtitles and then reply what timings they have?
Are there anyone who has a same problem?
Mad, did you try to open the subtitle with other program?
Yes...when using VSfilter (DirectVobSub 2.33) and other direct-show players (like MPC or ZoomPlayer) - the subtitles are ok.
I found a .sub file that doesnt load good, too. (a lot of .sub files dont work good for me).
The subtitles are showing nonsense again...the movie for these subtitles is short - 12 minutes ... but the subtitles are showing more.
Please check it Z.
Thank you

Hi, i have the same problem.
I posted some time ago the problematic file, it was .sub subtitle, Z don´t have any problems with it. My solution was converting the .sub file to .srt.
Other player plays the file nice.
Greetings.
By the way, did anybody find the difference between the wrong and correct display of subtitles? It could be a very small problem like displaying a unit of comma(locale).
The problematic .sub might be a same problem as KMP convert its frame based unit into time based unit firstly before processing. That is, the way of expression of time could be different in my thought.
The following screenshot shows a countury and language option in XP's control pannel.
If you don't mind, would you let me know the location where you are in or what kind of localized windows version do you use?
ps. The 2nd is a screenshot of karas_01.ssa

In case of this .sub file, it's a bug.
I dont mind... english win Xp pro sp2 with slovak settings (see screenshots in attachement - i packed and resized the screenshots, because they would take up much space here).
Might be, that the .sub has a bug, but VSFilter had no problem with it.
I've changed the settings to slovak and found the problems you'd mentioned.
Yeah, it'll be fixed definitely.

Same here changing slovak for spanish ("Español").
Thanks for your efforts.
Halleluiah! :D
You are my hero Z ;)
We got to the root of the problem, finally!
Thanx (again :p )
Hmm...now I have an empty subtitle explorer when loading the karas subtitles :( (newest beta - 09.04.2006 - d/m/y)
The subs arent displayed (nor with autoload, nor with alt+o). Are the fixes in the new beta?
Btw. - very nice new file icons  :D
(and the system tray icon is good again  )
