Well, on my nF2 board, ABIT NF7-S v2.0, if I use nvidia IDE SW driver from latest official WHQL pack 5.10(11) - 4.26, I get hard lockups on tying to play dvd's trough open standard dvd device. If i revert to standard Microsoft IDE driver - Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller - all is working O.K. Other file formats are working fine with nVidia driver, so I was thinking that there is probably a bug
in some of DVD decoding components? I should also say that Media Player Classic with his internal decoders and Windows Media Player with DScaler and AC3Filter 1.01rc5 have no problems with DVD playback with nVidia drivers.

Thanks, this player was a revelation for me ...

I don't know what's wrong, but it could be the compatibility problem of dscaler if you are using it.

I'm not using DScaler for dvd playback in KMplayer - it works fine in Windows Media Player however. Using internal decoders - and I think that the DVD navigator, if he is accesing the DVD drive directly - just guessing, no expert here, could be the problem... I've placed newer versions of Gabest DVD decoders in KMPlayer that I know are working fine in Media Player Classic, and nothing - same thing. Some part of the decoder or player which is accesing the drive and I mean access to physical parts of the disc - tracks etc. is not compatible with nForce PATA IDE drivers.
