View Full Version : Am I the only one that can't get this to run?

First of all, I've heard nothing put praise for this program, and figured I'd try it out because Media Player Classic had some incompatibilities with DVDs as well as some media files. So I downloaded it, installed it, and tried to open it... except it wouldn't. Looking in the task manager, I notice that it shows up in processes for just a few seconds. I tried a second install and even tried on another computer, but the same results. Are there any program conflicts that would cause it, such as Media Player Classic? Is it a video card issue perhaps? (I have a Geforce2 go). Or maybe it's not compatible with Windows XP SP2?

I can't pinpoint the root of my problem; if someone could help me figure it out, that would be great!

It runs fine for me with a geforce 4 go (similar to Geforce 2).
I have windows xp sp2 too.

Same problem as jarvolt. I have tried to install twice and it won't run. I have win pro sp2 w/all updates installed. Latest drivers on everything. Any Help?

Might it be that I'm missing something that this requires? My XP installation has a bunch of things taken out of it; I'm not sure if that has something to do with it. I suspect so because the two computers I tested it on had similar installations.

A minimum system requirements page would be nice, BTW.

I've never heard a thing like this. Actually there is no minimum system requirements.

As KMP is developed under WinXP, it's the best with WinXP.
Can't you even run KMP? It seems not to be a problem of driver or else.
As there is no special thing to launch KMP, I can't guess what condition makes the problem.

Are there any messages when trying to run KMP?

I don't know if it is a dep(data execution prevention) problem but try to turn off the function as follows.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Or check if there is any program that block kmp to launch.

That didn't seem to do anything. And as far as I can tell, nothing's preventing it from launching. I'm spyware-free, and when testing it I closed out of all unnecessary processes except those started by Windows.

That is probably your windows fault. Something in the registry maybe. :(
My best hint is to make a fresh install of windows.
I had something similar in the past and a fresh install was the only solution...
