brightness problem

Every single video file that I have (avi, wmv, etc), when KMPlayer loads up the file, the video suddenly darkens about 1/2 seconds right after it starts.

All the color settings are at its default configurations.

The other media players that I have are PowerDVD, Zoom Player, and Media Player Classic. I dont know if those other players are interferring with KMPlayer or not.

Nevermind, I fixed it. I had to change the Renderer from default to VMR9.

Anyways, I need help configuring KMPlayer because I am new to all of these settings (refer to the other thread that I created). What settings are default that will benefit me changing it to improve performance and quality based on my system specs in the sig.

BTW, if I play a DVD with 5.1 surround sound, do I have to configure anything in KMPlayer to output the respected channels? Anything like video hardware acceleration?
