i encode a few dvd to x264 and put in mkv container
i choose external coreavc codec to playback these files
often during playback the vobsub subs that is mux inside the mkv would not appear for a few minutes and suddenly subs would appear again
if i jump back the video, those subs that does not appear would appear fine now, but have to try jump back a few times before subs appear again.
this is randomly so i can't pinpoint what cause the problem
now i am using the external dvobsub to display subs when playing these files which don't have random disappearing subs
It's a known problem.
The idx/sub parser of kmp have a bug which is not able to fix before changing its sturcture. He seemed not to know the possibility or condition that cause the error. It occurs with the vobsub subtitles arranged in a short time interval.
I hope it will be fixed.
@Mike89
The developer seems to forget wholly the vobsub problem.
So we need a sample to verify.
Can you make a small sample and upload here? (This board allows up to 20MB in zip format)

the problems seem random, every once in a while a few lines of subs disappear
next time i play and jump to that spot the subs display fine
so what sample should i make?
Of course, the problematic sample. If you'd not like to, you don't need to make it. Don't be serious. I have no intention to make you annoying.

i think you misunderstood
the problem is random, so i can't cut out a problematic sample
any movie encode in x264 inside mkv container plus when playback with vobsub subs will have the problems i describe above

hey, i think i might have found what is causing the problem
it could be due to the coreavc pro filter (v1.00 not the beta)
i change back to the nero filter for x264 playback, and watch a 2hrs movie with no disappearing subs problem
will further test it.
Did you try coreavc in other players?

Maybe not CoreAVC's problem.
I have some Xvid encoded mkv files, the subtitile issue also exists if the splitter is KMP internal mkv splitter. But if the splitter is Gabest's, there is no problem.
If then, use the gabest splitter for the moment.
It seems to be difficult to find the place where the bug is in hiding.

just check, i been using gabest filter all along
i really think it is the new CoreAVC, need more time to confirm cause have to watch a movie to know
i will try the beta coreavc next time i watch a movie

ok, watch some more movies, can confirm that coreavc pro 1.00 is not compatible with kmp, randomly causing subs not to display
When I play MKV file, I notice that there are time when the subtitle appear and disappear in a flash and others time when it display properly. I read in another topic about the Directvobsub. When I add it to kmp, now the subs are displaying properly and the kmp is responding better (faster)when I want to forward a MKV file.
