Hi, I would like to know what's the meaning of this feature and how does it work.

I don't know if there is another place to find more information about all the features of this great player, apart from this forum.

Thank you.

Hi, there.

Skip function is for skipping of intro or ending part. You can control it by ctrl-1,2,3,4. (ctrl-4 will open setting dialog)

I don't know if there is another place to find more information about all the features of this great player, apart from this forum.
If you find one, let me know that. :)

OK thanks, it's incredible that I hadn't known that "skip intro" feature is for skipping intro... :p

I thought that with this feature I could skip e.g. the trailers in a DVD, I don't know why... Maybe because KMPlayer doesn't work with some applications that have this possibility (and work with other commercial players).

Now, I have tested it and I can say that if you set "Skip intro: 3sec", you will not see the first 3 seconds of the video. Or you will see nothing but the first 3 seconds if you set "Play intro: 3sec". (I think this can be useful if you see a TV series...)

It may not work with DVD, means that skipping trailers in DVD is not considered in this function. The feature is only designed for divx movies or mp3 etc, not DVD.

Would you explain it in more detail. I'm a bit curious about what it is.

Yes, it's exactly for that purpose.

Imagine that you have a DVD of your favourite film. When you insert it on your PC, there are some trailers of other films or warnings about piracy that you are able (or not) to skip, before arriving at the main menu (or the movie).

In my experience I have tried some programs that make available the possibility of inserting the DVD and that it goes to the main menu or play the main movie directly (skipping of those trailers automatically).

I talk about PowerDVD (player) and AnyDVD (both shareware). This second program has this possibility of avoiding trailers or warnings.

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

It seems that KMPlayer doesn't work in combination with AnyDVD, as I couldn't skip those trailers as I did when using PowerDVD (it should jump them automatically).

I don't know if I have explained it well, and maybe I'm wrong about KMPlayer, because I'm a newbie using it (not tested on every DVD I have, etc.). (And also, sorry if it's not possible to talk about these things in the forum).

Any opinion would be appreciated. We don't care about comparing kmp with other players. If anydvd does not work with kmp, there seems to be a compatability problem between the twos.
