I have a default configuration of kmp and it doesn`t go well: the video looks r-e-a-l-l-y bad and the audio is a thing that no one wants to hear.
Maybe my pc is to blame ( pentium 4 1.66 g 512 ram ) but i've played files like this before ( with other players ) and no problem.

so what i'm asking here is how to configure a new kmp to run smoothly this file.
I'm looking forward for help, thanks!.

Well, if you're running the current beta version, switch back to the previous version for a moment.

Your problem is that the file is comprised of h264 which is really hogging cpu when decoding and AAC 5.1 ch which is hard to get a sample. I have no idea how I can help you.

You are saying that you had no problem with the file before, I think, but it could be other type of file. To play smoothly h264 in your system, there is no alternative than to use CoreAVC(it's not free) which is the fatest h264 decoder for now. And you should enable superspeed mode(alt+f in kmp).
But I can't confirm it can paly without stuttering. :p

And for AAC 5.1ch, it seems not to downmix to 2ch properly. It's a setting problem, for sure.

I hope, "CoreAVC + Superspeed mode in KMP + AAC downmixing to 2ch" combination can help you with the playback of the file.

By the way, to confirm the abnormal downmixing of AAC 5.1ch, we need a sample to verify. It can be a bug.

hmmmmmmmmmm so this avc filter fixes it all for kmp i guess

-the thruth is that i played that file -perfect- with other special players but i don't want to change my customized kmp....
ammmmm i suppose you can't share the filter, do you?, that would be too nice since i couldn't find it myself after all.
And the shyntoms:the video gets cut, the audio gets -turbo- and i get annoyed...

What is the player? Maybe it is commercial or contains commercial decoder for h264 like nero showtime, isn't it?

If it is not a directshow based player, there is only one player(TCMP).

you are smart aren't you? :D
yep it is that one and detritus player.
But i was really onto this of making my kmp play nice these x264 and nothing.
Ah another thing, do the sound ( aac ) has something to do with the bad performance?, you know, it sounds really strange in kmp unlike detritus!

--Let's give an end to this xD .....--

well then, what about .vorbis compatibility of a default kmp?, i got another avc video clip that cryes when playing but it has bad sound also;
