How to make KMP a default player ?
Why i can't use the KMP program from "Open With" method ?
Hi Spwong.
Go to preferences (F2), tick all filetypes you want and apply to system. Should work in most cases.
Ive got messed up registry and the apply to system doesnt work for me (this setting isnt "aggressive" enough for my system) and I must use windows "open with" + "always use the selected..." for every filetype

Uninstalling winamp and then doing F2 -> Association/Capture helped me.

anfernee1224,
If the above method is not working for you, you can try this:
1. Go to "Start"
2. Click "Control Panel"
3. Click "Appearance and Themes"
4. Click "Folder Options"
5. Click on the "File Types" tab
6. Search for your desired filetype to associate with KMPlayer
7. Click "Advanced"
8. Under "Actions:" click on "open" then click "Remove"
9. Click "New"
10. For "Action:" type Play
11. For "Application use to perform action:" click "Browse" and find the KMPlayer.exe
12. Click "OK"
13. Then highlight "Play" under "Actions:" and click "Edit" (here's where it gets a little tricky)
14. Under "Action:" change it to &Play
15. Under "Application use to perform action:" delete %1 at the end and add this:
/prefetch:6 /Play "%L"
Here's how it should look:
Action: &Play
Application use to perform action: "D:\Program Files\KMPlayer\KMPlayer.exe" /prefetch:6 /Play "%L"
Use DDE should be checked
Application: KMPlayer
Topic: System
**Note that "D:\Program Files\KMPlayer\KMPlayer.exe" is my location of KMPlayer make sure yours is correct.
The filetype should now open when you double click on it.

i've downloaded and installed the lastest version (2.9.3.1214), but i had used version Beta 2.9.3.1364 before. When i try to open media using "open with", and choise KMPlayer (there's an error in KMPlayer icon from the list), i've got this message"... is not a valid win32 application"
I hope you have KMP only in one folder. OS means operation system - so if you use Win xp sp2 or vista (if you have an older Windows, you are out of luck). Try to reset KMP (F2 - initialize current preset).
