hi, please try this one, 00:15 - 01:30
Ok, the "fade" thing is alright now :)
But I think, in this case, the subtitle lines go in weird order. The first screenshot is kmp subtitle parser, the second mpc+vsfilter (as usual 6.4.9.0 & 2.33). The second combo seems right.
@njmzhang
just curious...is your problem solved with the new beta (18.6.06)?
It's because of the different structure of the subtitle parser.
Originally, the internal subtitle parser started for displaying smi format. That it, other types of subtitles are based on the structure of displaying smi. Other subtitles are converted internally to smi format before displaying on screen.
The subtitles in the screenshot above explains the following differences:
1. Internal subtitle parser does not process the attribute of position in ass.
2. The first line means the most bottom line in internal parser when it is displayed continuously(in case of time-overlapping subtitles).
By the way, you can switch now to external subtitle module for ass or ssa. It supports almost all attributes of ass.
Thanks for the info z.

Yes...it works. Btw is there a way to change properties for the subtitles processed by the external sub module? e.g. font, quality (AA) ...

The external subtitle module is mainly for supporting ass or ssa with full attributes. Some attributes in regards of font could be changed in the next beta.
By the way, what do you mean by quality? Anti aliasing?
Doesn't the subtitle display smoothly?

The external subtitle module does not handle well the Karaoke and some other effects.
The vsfilter has an option "prebuffer subpicture", the kmp external subtitle module works like the vsfitler with "prebuffer subpicture" on.
Well, it is almost of no use when decoding under realtime environment.
To turn off "prebuffer subtitles" makes it possible to render the effects.
I'll ask the author if it is also possible in kmp.
According to the author, kmp does not prebuffer subtitles before displaying.
Anyway, the function of realtime rendering for subtitle effects will be added in the next beta. :)
By the way, what do you mean by quality? Anti aliasing?
Yes, I meant Anti Aliasing (just like the original kmp sub parser has - 2x & 3x).
Doesn't the subtitle display smoothly?
Well...it does, but I would like to change properties in some cases. To change the font (if its too small or too big) and to make them nicier (e.g. the AA option).
I will be happy, if the author considers it. If no, well...I can live with it ;)
Do you use overlay subtitles?
AA with overlay output is not possible.
As for VMR subtitles, I've heard 32x or 64x anti-aliasing is used.
I use overlay mixer (it is default). I read a few times, that overlay mixer is better than vmr. Although I have a dx9 compatible gfx (Geforce fx 5600). I tried vmr a few times, but it is kind of too bright.
What are your thoughts about this z?
Basically, VMR9 is better than Overlay Mixer though it depends on system.
As you mentioned, it is too bright in vmr9.
But the problem will be gone if RGB output is used.
Do not forget to change the output method of subtitles after switching to VMR9.
I tried it. Looks the same as overlay. But when I played an .mkv (.mp4 decoded with x264 - the sample should be at the beginning of this thread), it is freezing when I am seeking. Maybe the overlay mixer is more tolerant on my poor old Athlon xp 2600+.
The subtitles looked the same. The thing that was AAsed was the osd (e.g. volume 10%).
And thank you for sharing some of you knowledge z
