Hi mzll.
Is it only one video or all? If it is only one...can you attach a sample of that file?

Have you tried other players? (like Media Player Classic, MPlayer, or Gom player)

What kind of version do you use?

And you may use WinXP sp2?

I'm also having the same problem. All media seems to work fine (mp3, avi, media player format) except for DVDs. When I try to run any DVD, I get the following error message: Access violation at address 00742348 in module 'KMPlayer.exe'. Read of address 00000000. The same DVD plays fine with Cyberlink PowerDVD. I am using Windows XP Professional SP2. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rob

Did you reset kmp? Is it the latest beta version?

Yes, I just downloaded the newest beta version two days ago and it was a fresh install. I'm not sure how to reset it, but I did try the button in the preferences-troubleshooting menu called "General Playback Problem", and that did not correct the problem.

Thanks!

Try clicking the button like on the screenshot.
That is what z meant by reset KMP.

And I hope the problem to be gone.

So kind of you!

Well, thats the least I can do. In most cases, YOU are helping ME ;)

Thanks for the tip. I did the reset, and I'm afraid the problem persists. Also of note, after I get the access violation, if I try to look at the DVD Drive in Explorer, I get an I/O error. If I then view files on my other CD (not DVD) drive, and go back to the DVD drive, it's fine again. I would be suspicious that I have some sort of setup problem, except for the fact that the other DVD player works fine.

Any ideas or additional info I could provide that would help?

Thanks!
Rob

Check if it is a PAL type of dvd. This kinds of DVDs are not supported yet.
Other than this, it is hard to guess the problem, as I have no problem with DVD playback in kmp.

I'm having access violation error too.
The problem is that i get many of this errors at launch of KMP, and the application locks. So I'm not able to reset anything.
Using on winxp SP2, KMP 2.9.1.1045
Any clue?

As it seems to be a specific problem in your system, it's hard to guess.

I've resolved deleting the whole content of the previously installed KMP, and reinstaling freshly, getting rid of everything

Good to hear that.

I also get an access violation, however it happens randomly and after I click okay it'll start playing again (although, exponentially, the number of erros keeps increasing everytime when playing on a playlist).

Uncanny!
