Help! play HDTV with CD-ROM

I used KMPlayer for more than one year. Recently, I start to download some XVID 720P HDTV(normally 4.4G for a movie ). Although my CPU is old enough(Celeron 2.0G), with carefully selecting of decoder, it runs smooth with CPU at 60%. But after some time, my hard disc is full of all movies, I start to record the movies on DVD-RW.
Problem is I can not player the movies from the DVD disc smoothly. Seems the reading speed is very low. Meanwhile, I try to play with BSplayer and Windows media player, the movies go very smooth. I also try play DVD(real DVD disc) with KMP, it also very smooth.
I am not a PC expert. Try many time and fail.

try using gabest's avi splitter instead

OK, just go to Options---Preferences---Source Filter:
under AVI source filter/splitter
you change the item "Normal AVI" and " Damaged AVI" to "Gabest Avi Splitter(AviSplitter.ax)
Then the movies go very smooth

As for your description before writing the movie in dvd-rw, kmp plays smoothly without jerking. Then, I wish to know it still uses "KMP AVI Source Filter" before recording the movie.

--> Would you post the ctrl-tab info when you play the movie in your hard disk without changing the splitters to gabest's?

By the way, your configuration of decoder seems to be wrong. Why did you uncheck Xvid item in preferences|internal video decoder? Are there any external xvid decoders?

In fact，I know little about Media player software. In china, there a is a HDTV forum called Silu. I get help from that forum in setting decoder. Meanwhile, there are many people talking about not smooth from DVD-rom. There are some suggestions there. What I did is from one of the suggestions.
Any way, I will try play another movie direct from hard disc and paste Ctrl-tab information.
