Hi. First, great player- one of the best ;)
But... I have a question. Is there a way to watch a movie with an Aspect ratio of 16:9 and subtitles outside (below) the movie?
I'v tried to extend the movie to 4:3 and set the Aspect ratio to 16:9 but it doesn't work, the movie's coming out too small (not in 16:9).
I'm using "clone mode" and "full screen on secondary display" option enabled in my videocard (6600GT) settings so i could to watch movies on my tv.
help?
thanks :D
Hello,
There are a few ways to display subtitles below the movie.
I'v tried to extend the movie to 4:3 and set the Aspect ratio to 16:9 but it doesn't work, the movie's coming out too small (not in 16:9).
By the way, I don't understand your description above. Before trying, restore to the default if it is a configration of KMP.
The best way of displaying subtitles below the screen in clone mode is to switch video renderer to VMR9 Renderless and the output method of subtitles to VMR9. Refer to the following screenshot.
You can also make a black margin below the screen forcibly for subtitles if you prefers overlay mixer.

Great! i have never been able to accomplish that in other players.
This is definitely the best blayer ever ;)
Thanks alot :)
The best way of displaying subtitles below the screen in clone mode is to switch video renderer to VMR9 RenderlessIs this much of a video-quality trade-off in your opinion, or just another way to Rome? (a bit off topic for this subject maybe, but then again, people would like to know I guess)
It depends mainly on the several Quality factor: Graphic Card, driver version, Output Colorspace, Video Renderer etc. A thing about this, there are much better materials in AVS and Doom9 forums etc.
VMR9 mode + the high quality subtitles eat up about 20% more CPU power than the overlay mixer + normal quality subtitles (the default settings).
So is there another way?
Did you enable the option of forcing RGB in vmr renderless?
If you have a good graphic card, try haali's video renderer + super/highspeed mode.

This is actualy a must, because I will get a too bright video image when using VMR9.

I have a GeForce 6600GT (128MB).
What is the difference between .... ok ... I used Google :p ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).
I dont use SuperSpeed mode until its necessary (my system is ok with high resolution mp4 files=h264).
I try the haali renderer :)
The haali renderer is quite good...but I have a 10-15 seconds delay when starting a video - that sucks (the superspeed mode doesnt help it).
I decided to go for the best possible video/image quality.
I used the High Quality Preset + I chanded the resizing method to PS2 (-0.6A). It is the same as in your screenshots Z.
