HI KMPlayer developers,

I have a request and a question about KMPlayer.
1. First the request (that might be a bug - I don't know): In some areas of KMP's preferences window, some of the text is with a specified (internally) font color. In some places it's dark green, in others is blue and in other - black (the black is mostly in combo boxes). As you maybe already know, I'm a visually impaired PC user. Therefore, I'm using a hi-contrast color theme (in Windows) which is with black background and white text. So for me is very difficult (and in some cases - impossible) to read that text which is with specified (internally) font color. Can you make the KMP's preferences windo use the font colors specified in the Windows color theme (maybe as an option - because some other users probably like the current colors)?
2. And now the question: How are the MIDI files rendered in KMP? I wnt to set them to play through "DirectMusic / Microsoft Synthesizer (with output)". Is there a way to do that?

P.S.: I've attached some screenshots of KMP's window to show what I mean with the font colors.

Thank you for the help in advance!
Best wishes!

It'll be applied.

I wnt to set them to play through "DirectMusic / Microsoft Synthesizer (with output)".
No special things about playing midi. Isn't it using "DirectMusic / Microsoft Synthesizer (with output)"? I just wonder. Ctrl-tab info will let you know the playback status of midi.

No (At least I think so). Here's some information from CTRL+TAB box:
[Primary Filtergraph]
0) - KMP Archive Source
1) - MIDI Parser
2) - Default MidiOut Device

Decoder - No codec

[Audio Info]
Decoder - KMP Archive Source
Format - Major Type: Stream - Sub Type: UnKnown
Unknown

I have another question: In KMP's program dir there's a "temp" folder. When I opened it, I found there a almost 700MB file with no extension named "__TempData__0". What's that file for? I must say that I have activated the following options: (see attached screenshot). Is this file related to those options?

Thanks for the help in advance!
Best wishes!

According to the information, "DirectMusic / Microsoft Synthesizer (with output)" seems to be used. You can change the device for playing midi in control panel of Windows > Sound and Audio Device > Audio Tab.

I have another question:
Yes, it is a cache file. You can delete it.

Try the midi plugin.

.mid should be added in Preferences > Filter Control > Winamp section.

About the problem with KMP's preferences window: The option you've added works fine. Only one question - which are the elements which are not changeable?
About MIDI playback: The midi plug-in works good only when playing MIDI files directly. If the files are played directly from an archive (RAR in my case), it seems that it doesn't work - no EQ and DSP are applied. EQ and DSP effects usage is my main reason to want Direct music with output.

Thank you for the help in advance!
Best wishes!

Well, if you find one, let me know that. ;)

Actually, I don't know much about playing midi. How is it possible to apply EQ and DSP with playing midi?

According to the author, it is impossible to use rar-ed midi file with the plugin.

Well, when using in_midi.dll and in it's preferences under device is selected "DirectMusic / Microsoft Synthesizer (with output)", EQ and DSP are applied (at least I think so, because the sound is very improved). But that happens only when playing MIDI files directly. If you play them directly from an archive, no EQ and DSP are applied. Below I've posted some information from CTRL+TAB box when playin MIDI files directly and when from an archive.

Direct playback:
[Primary Filtergraph]
0) - KMP Winamp Audio Source(IN_MIDI.DLL)
1) - KMP Audio Codec
2) - AC3Filter
3) - KMP Audio Transform(Inpalce)
4) - DirectSound Audio Renderer

Playback from an archive:
[Primary Filtergraph]
0) - KMP Archive Source
1) - MIDI Parser
2) - Default MidiOut Device

Tell me if you need more information or some MIDI samples.

Well, if it's that way, don't worry about it.
