View Full Version : How to solve slow time-seek in big VOB files?

First of all, I'd like to say that the KMPlayer is the best media player I've used. I just love how easy it is to adjust the brightness by pressing two keys, and so many other useful features. If there's anything that needs improvement, I think it's playing VOB files. Strangely enough, while the KMP performs time-seek so blazing fast in other media formats, it lags terribly doing the same thing when playing VOB files. Smaller VOB files are fine, but when it comes to bigger VOB files that are 300MB and up, it takes nearly ten seconds to get to the desired position. And interestingly, it doesn't have the same problem when playing DVDs. It only happens when it's playing standalone VOB files. Can anyone so kindly fix this? It would then be perfect. Good work you've done here, rooting for you guys! :)

The parser between dvd and vob is different. That's the reason. Did you try to switch mpeg2 parsers to internal one?

ps. You should change mpeg2 PS splitter.
