Hello,

Ive been using rar support much and never had problem with it till it put latest version on.

Either the rar format from my files is suddenly changed or theres a bug.
If i manually rar 1 file in 1 rar it works, but if i open the rar of a multiple archive, i get this error:

--------------------
BINARY INFO
--------------------
FileName : xor-men.in.trees.112.rar,0
Data :
File does not exist!

It happens on 5 archives i tried just now, any idea how to fix it :S

/edit: i just saw u changed rar library to unicode, could this be the problem? anywhere i can get old versions of kmp? The main page is a bit hard to browse cuz i cant read that language hehe :P

Oh yea another question:
How can i make kmplayer use ac3filter to play avi with mp3 audio..
i got both in ac3filter and in kmplayer forced to use ac3filter, but it doesnt work.
In windows media player it works:

I guess kmplayer have another filter to use ontop of the mpeg3 layer decoder, any way to make it pick ac3filter instead :S (i select ac3filter in all external decoder..)
Why do i want this? Cuz i can resync audio with ac3filter, add more gain etc..
Which reminds me, the audio sync of kmplayer is not so good, smallest step is like 100 ms...

It can be if your os does not support unicode.

In my test, I did not find any problems.

Then, leave a link for the problematic rar archive. And I'll check it.

The old one may not be compatible with the latest version.

How can i make kmplayer use ac3filter to play avi with mp3 audio..

Currently I can use internal AC3filter with videos with MP3 audio, but as when I try to use any external codec to play them, the sound becomes 48000Hz and it sounds accelerated... So I haven't managed to use it well.

Is it possible to decode mp3 using AC3filter??

dont think so, fraunhofer hooks into ac3filter or vica
so will be problematic i guess...
as for the rar file to try, select some avi, compress it using winrar in multiple archives, and try to play it...
cuz happens on every multifile archive ive tried, which all worked on old kmp.
Im sad to not be able to find the old kmp versions so i could retest now, to see if my winblows is fucking or if its really kmp.

Another thing just struck my mind:
The sharpen filter from basic worx a lot better than the one in advanced, nomatter how i setup the advanced sharpen i cant get the same result as the basic one.
It be great if one could adjust amount of sharpen from basic one..
If its using same filter as in advanced options, could someone paste me the settings.. :d

/edit: found another unrar dll, thought id put it in lol and now it worx!

So at least i know for sure the unicode one is causing the problem :P

Hmmm, it was not a supported feature. You seems to be misunderstanding.

For previous version, refer to the following link.

As for the connection of ac3filter, there are several ways.

1. Follow the steps here.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Only one thing to change is to Set LPCM decoder to AC3filter.

2. You can force ac3filter in custom filter manger to connect raw pcm.

3. You can simply change the way of connecting filters in prefernces > decoder usage > use after failing to play with system default.

4. You can also disable smart filter connection in preferences > filter control.

thanks, great instructions!
I only needed to do step 4 to get ac3filter to work :)

As for the rar, i thought it was meant to watch movies from archive =)
Dont know of any other feature to use it.. except maybe subs.
Either way with the other unrar.dll it worx fine to watch movie from archive..
It unpacks movie in memory i think, and then play it.

Great player, and i hope u can keep update it :)
Maybe some speed improvement be nice, starting takes 2.5 sec here (using default skin).
VMR9 mode causes 4 second delay before movie start, VMR7 about 2.5 second and OVERLAY 1.5-2 sec.
Ill still stick to vmr9 though cuz with bicubic resize its quite better qual..

Greetings!

As for a slow start, try to use a light skin. If your system is strong enough to run anything instantly, the real-time process of monitoring your system(eg. vaccine) can cause a slow startup of kmp. I'm using AMD barton 2500+ and the initial launching speed is just a second. (Almost same speed as other lightweight players without advanced functions) I can surely confirm this as I'm using kmp frequently in all my daily life.

Or try to empty the plugins folder of kmplayer.

The rest thing can't be improved anymore because it depends on system. It's not because of kmp. I just wonder what makes the startup and opening speed of kmp so slow in your system. I have no such a problem. If it is, there is only one thing except for wrong configuration of kmp; The system is outdated to open and play the movie fluently.

By the way, there is no actual benefit to use ac3filter as a raw filter for connection to raw pcm.

And you should read the instruction carefully when disabling smart filter connection.

Thanks.

Ah so rar is officially for audio....Btw tried the 1200 version, that was non unicode unrar, which also didnt work hehe.
I think u used a total other unrar on even older version. Either way it doesnt matter, standard unrar.dll from internet worx perfect for movie.

As for slowness, after going through all settings, i saw it saved to ini the setting. It even said next to it that it be slow.
So disabled it and now its fast. (<1 sec)
And when using overlay its up par with other players :)
So gonna setup all setting again now (seems it lost many when i disabled the ini saving... ) and export registry for future reinstalls hehe :>

hi,
i'm really interested about this .rar thing, playing rar-splitted videos "on the fly" like xbmc is doing, is just amazing.

so i tried with the default unrar.dll we have with kmplayer, and i had the same error problem as Unique, then i tryed the other unrar.dll he posted and it works a little better:
works perfectly with small files, let's take a tv show for example, ~183Mb splitted in 12 rars (.r01 .r02 etc..) of 15MB each, i just open the .rar directly with kmplayer and it plays my show instantanely (!!!)
but when i try this with a full movie, like ~700Mb splitted in 36 rars of 20Mb, then i still have this old "file does not exist" message.

if anyone have an idea to fix this please.. thats the last step before i turn off my xbox totally and start using kmplayer only!
(just for info i'm using the last kmplayer, under windows xp sp2.)
