Hello and Happy New Year,
Here I have some suggestions for the next version of this great player:
1. Multi-Region Option
One could add a "Multi-Region" option as DVD X PLAYER
( [Only registered and activated users can see links]) has. KMP would then be the first real FREE, independent (from other software) Multi-Region player. Another feature would be a "Region Free" option that removes the Region code from DVD files copied on harddisk, as the free program "FreeDVD" ( [Only registered and activated users can see links] , section Free Stuff) does. The Blu-Ray Regions should also be supported. By the way, the Region code is NOT seen as part of copy protection, therefore bypassing it is legal (at least here in Europe, but Korea is touched neither by European nor US copyright laws, anyway ;) ).
2. Record Button for Easier Recording
a) To start and stop recording more precisely, could add a "Record" button, as DVD X PLAYER has.
b) The "Save as" option could save .CDA files from Audio-CDs also as .MP3 files.
3. Displaying and Saving Pictures
a) KMP should be able to display single images (.BMAP, .JPEG, .PNG, etc.)b) One could add the thumbnail option of MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC to create a "storyboard" of a video file.
4. Internet Options
a) One should be able to receive and record Internet radio and TV without needing a card.
b) One should be able to download .FLV files from YouTube, Google, Yahoo, etc.
5. Language Names
For consistency and easier finding, languages shoud be given in their local names: Deutsch (= German), Español, Français, Italiano, etc. Names of languages not using the Latin alphabet can be given in English.
6. Detailed English Documentation
One should release a detailed English documentation. There are so many features that it is confusing for a newbie like me. I have not found a detailed guide on the Internet yet.
