I use more presets in KMPlayer with different settings.. When I tune up some preset, it is little difficult to find when and which my settings has stored..

My idea: Create New preset, fine. (buttons New, Current).

When I would to change something in EXISTING preset, I would like choose in Configuration Management which preset i want change (click - and choosed preset will be loaded)

Then I will continue tuning this preset, changes will be applied immediatelly (of course i want to check if preset is ok), but not save imediatelly. And, if I say OK, this is fine tuned preset, I simply choose one of existing presets in Configuration Management and click Save preset (this button missing to me).

Because, nowadays I use more presets and this presets are set up to automatically change, depends on some parameters. Changes in settings are stored somehow automatically, and becase my presets are changing often, occasionally I dont know in which presets I am..

In short: I would like to have more control over presets when I change something:
Choose what I want to change (click) - and preset loaded,
set up whatever i want in settings (click click click) - and preset is tuned,
choose where save changes(=preset) and save(click) - and preset is stored.

Hope you understand my problem/idea.

How many presets did you create?

I know what you are talking about, but it is by design from the beginning. It is hard to change its way of saving a configuration preset as it should be rewritten from scratch.

Do not make too many presets. (it's just a suggestion from my experiences with kmplayer.) It doesn't really need to do that with kmp because it works well with most videos by default setting. As for me, I just maintain one or two additional presets for H.264 contents or particular situations.

Ps. If you are an experienced user of zoom player, you may try to make many presets for each extensions. It is not really recommended for kmp. ;)

Then, how to set up properly in kmp? Just try the default setting for all situations. If you come across the video files which is not played well, just try to change the combination of splitter and decoder.

Proposition
1. Adjust a default setting to work with almost all video files.
2. Make another preset only when there are video files unable to be played with a default setting fluently. eg) H.264 materials or high resolution vidoes

Thanks,

ps1. Your signature makes me feel so good. :D
ps2. Ctrl+Tab info box will be helpful to know the filters being active.

About 4 presets..

I dont have problems with decoders, i set up most of it in Filters tab or in system (priority). I have more presets for my comfort :) One with special volume (left repro is louder) when I sit on chair (chair is in the right in the room), other special volume (right repro) when i watch film from bed (bed is in the left), :D Others presets are for specify video height, when is height small then preset automatically expand picture..

Those presets are complete, just if I want something change in some preset it is little confusing when I change something and guess if change save to right preset..

Anyway, I understand it should be rewritten from scratch, so I will be hope.. In far-away future maybe you find time :)
