ctrl+d is for "open dvd standard device". It does not give an error for me, but when I press it when there is no DVD in the drive I can't play anything after that, kmp does not switch back to normal playback mode or audio mode. I have to restart it.

You don't need to switch it manually as it changes its mode automatically depending on the media. Just try to open audio or video files.

Rikis,

Do not use "Ctrl+D" if you don't have dvd standard drives to run. You can disable the shortcut in preferences. And your filtergraph is not for "Ctrl+D". If it working correctly, it must start as follows.

Thats the problem. If Open a file, doubleclick on a playlist item or drag and drop a video file nothing happens. The autorun (ar what it is called in english) for optical drives is disabled, if it means something.

But I don't know your problem. I can't reproduce it. It works normally in my side.

Well its not a bigproblem for me. I just told it because I saw this topic. The problem I have with the playback is more annoying. It often holds for a very short time when I'm using subtitles (maybe sometimes when I'm not using subtitles). Visibly hardly noticable, but makes a noise in the audio.

As for the delay of subtitles, if you are using the latest version, try to reset it.
If it persists, attach the subtitles. there can be a parsing problem.

But it looks weird you have a noise in audio. There may be something you are missing in configurations. How did you set it up?

I have no problem with the subtitles, only with the playback. It stops for a moment and thats causing the sound. Maybe the word "noise" was incorrect. (Maybe that was called jerking?). I wish I could describe it properly in english.

There are various reasons in a jerking problem. Well, I must stop guessing your problem.

It looks like the problem have vanished when I turned the Audio renderer back to default renderer.

It is recommended to use default device. (=default directsound device)
