View Full Version : help with rmvb file
Thanks to the kmplayer, i am now able to play rmvb files smoothly in full screen mode with my PIII machine. :)
However, i noticed a strange problem while playing the rmvb files. The video play speed is not steady in my case, most of the time is normal, but sometimes in slow motion, sometimes in fast motion. The audio speed is quite steady thoughout the time. Is this the problem of the software or the hardware? anyone has the similar problem?
Your description seemed too vague to figure out what's wrong with kmp.
Sometimes, during a few seconds, the video play speed will be slower than the normal speed; after a while the video play speed will be faster than the normal speed. After that the video will be played normally for some time. But later the same thing happens again...
I have real player installed in my machine. When using the real player, no such problem occurs. I didn't installed the real alternative. My kmplayer was installed from a rar package extraction (downloaded from [Only registered and activated users can see links] which is a Chinese version).
You've misunderstood. Whatever situation you are in, more objective information is needed which is not just your explanation but playback info and its smaple. The required infomation is filtergraph(ctrl-tab info) and the problemetic rmvb sample(in this case, a whole sample). But any problem with real player? why don't you use realplayer? (KMP does not support rtsp://)
And I have no idea why Real Media format is so popular in china.
Anyway, we need a whole rmvb sample to trace a problem.
ps. Put it down here who has a similar problem.
Because real player takes up too much of the system resource, which makes the video not so smooth on my PIII machine.
The rmvb format is popular due to its small file size and easy convertibility from DVD :D
For the information that is required, i will try to get it and posted here tonight. Also i'll try to upload a piece of problemetic rmvb sample. Thanks for the reply :)
Thanks, i have solved the problem. I uninstalled the real player, chose the internal realmedia splitter in the preferences, checked the real video and audio in the internal video and audio decoders, now it's working fine! :)
