could be interesting add additional features to wmv support.

Actualy I use default preset so "use dmo".

Some additional features can be changed using registry and so you can think add easily them in the kmp setting.

DXVA WMV support
==============
please note this feature is disable by default.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Scrunch\WMVideo\DXVA
REG_DWORD
0 = disabled
1 = enabled

on my system with an ATI 9600 pro the wmv accelaration is not fine. so if I activate wmv hw support on a 1080P wmv the play is slower than with cpu/sw support. But with new card like nvida 8x000 series and Ati x000 or 2x000 series probably hw acceleration is more faster.

DXVA WMV logging
==============
REG_DWORD
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Scrunch\WMVideo\DXVATRACE
0 = disabled
1 = enabled

this is not important. on 1 dvxa create a dxva.log in c:\

DXVA internal deinterlacing
====================
REG_DWORD
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Scrunch\Deinterlace
0 = disabled
1 = enabled

DXVA Post processing
================
REG_DWORD
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Scrunch\Post Process Mode
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Scrunch\Force Post Process Mode

4294967295 = autodetect
0 = off
1= weak deblocking
2= strong deblocking
3= weak deblocking+deringing
4= strongdeblocking+deringing

with that additional setting kmp could be totally alternative to WMP.

This is nothing but a registry control which can be changed in anytime.
What about using WMV9PowerToy?

Not at all.

WMP, Real Player, and Quick Time Player have the different position over the directshow based players. It provides its own architecture to access web-based contents. The coverage of the media playback of KMP is rather wide but somewhat limited to the local media in user's system.

So it is basically impossible to be alternative to that kind of players.

But this is rather useless as the decoder does not ship with the player.

ps. Actually, I'd already made a same request back in the beginning of May but..... :)
