support for avid output quicktime files? how?

dear specialists:

i'm a film editor and would love to use kMplayer to view/review the output files from avid media composer editor. they're invariably in a qt-wrapper but could be with varying codecs & also often they are qt reference files just referencing the media on the editor's media directories.

now, i understand that i represent a niche concern here, but having played around with kMplayer quite a bit i have a feeling that if only i knew how to make kMplayer access the system-installed codecs the files would play just fine.

more often than not i CAN play these files with media player classic, but everyone here must understand my pain when occasionally i have to resort to using QTplayer to see the verify the results of my work...

any pointers?

Hello,

Manual rework is required to play quicktime files in The KMPlayer as it is based upon directshow. Additionally, the corresponding directshow decoders must be present in user's system. If it is a quicktime decoder, it won't work at all.

Can you make some small samples to verify?

well, everything that is needed to view these files IS present in the system, but i don't know whether it's directShow or something else.

once i figure out where to upload it, i can post a file. meanwhile, below is the MediaInfo quote of one of the files - this one is Avid Meridien codec uncompressed & NOT a quicktime reference file. MediaInfo says that it's MPEG-4 but it's NOT.
