Multi-language installer (2.9.3.1433)

This is a multi-language installer. Now it's available in 17 languages: English, Albanian, Arabic, Bosnian, Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Czech, Finnish, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.

Other advantages of Multi-language installer:

Installer and uninstaller are both translated. Also you have the possibility to download and install the user manual (English or Spanish) automatically if selected. Korean codepage file ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) is included (it will be automatically installed if missing).

Translators: If you want the installer to be in your language, just translate those strings into the attached file (please remember to save it in Unicode format!)
I'll wait a bit for translations to be updated before packing the installer after beta releases.

Now there is a section in the installer with "Spanish stuff": Spanish help file, Spanish skin and special registry patches (all these things are only installed by default for Spanish users). More sections like "[your language] stuff" can be added by request (but only essential translation files, to keep a small file size).

If you can't see the language selection dialog at setup beginning, please go to the registry, and delete the "Installer language" value into "HKCU\Software\KMPlayer" to reset language preferences.

How exactly does this work? When a new beta arrives do I have to run this installer again or do I need a new installer? How do I know which beta version this installer has installed?

Is this installer a standalone or does it actually install something related to itself on my computer?

You can use the latest beta by two ways:

- Download the kmp.zip file and extract into a folder. New betas appear in the "News and announcements" forum when released.

- Download the installer and use it.

A new zip file and a new installer are released for each new beta. There isn't an update function.

Once installed, you can check the version number on the KMPlayer.exe file or in the "About" window.

Now your translated skin is installed by default for Brazilian users (you can find it in installation options). You can start translating the help file, note that I'm still working on it. Hi Pantuflo! I updated the Brazilian Portuguese version of Pure+ skin - with yours valorous help! -, updated and made some fine adjusts to the Portuguese.ini language file, and also translated the Winamp library plugin from English to Brazilian Portuguese. This last translation is packed in a .RAR file containg 2 .dll's, one .ini file and a LEIAME.txt file, with install instructions. :)

I packed everything in a simple .RAR file, attached. Could you, please, insert this elements in your next version of the multi-language installer? ;)

Pantuflo, as Moderator and creator of the multi-language installer, I think you're the people whom I should report a mistake: in this version of KMP (1422) the Brazilian Portuguese language.ini file was excluded and substituted by another one, wich translates KMP to the Portuguese from Portugal!

Althought similars, these languages have a lot of differences between them.

The same was done in the .zip file available to download.

So, I'm attaching to this message the Brazilian Portuguese language .ini file wich I updated to adequate it to the last English.ini reference file, and another skin made by Danyel Zhu that I also translated to Brazilian Portuguese. Togheter are the PT-BR translation of Winamp Media Library and Pure+ by Opus also in PT-BR.

I've fixed the Brazilian issue and I've also improved a bit the instalation speed (when updating).

I haven't added the new Brazilian skin yet. As I pointed in the first post, I don't want the installer file to become oversized... so since I'm including only the default skin, I think it would be better maybe to make a "skin pack" with some popular skins including the Brazilian ones, or include a specific link for Brazilian users... marcusvr, what do you think about that?

Just perfect, Pantuflo! Instead of to give the users a big pack, let's give them exactly what they need! Following yours steps, Master Yoda - ops, Master Pantuflo, sorry!:p - I prepared an installer with the Brazilian Portuguese pack and published it in a new topic on the translations sub-forum. This pack contains just English and Brazilian Portuguese language files and the Brazilian Portuguese stuff.

I did it 'cause there's a long time the official translator to Brazilian Portuguese don't visit the forum, and the first topic was outdated.

But I agree with your reasoning, Pantuflo! We could make a topic with this links: packs of skins, language packs, help files... It's a great idea! Perhaps these links could have some kind of highlight at the main forum home page!

Hello everyone. This is the Arabic Installer for KMPlayer.

I have managed to translate the installer strings, but the thing is that I couldn't save it in .txt because notepad keeps driving me crazy, especially that I'm doing translation into Arabic language which is a right to left language. I had to save it in .doc format. I hope it doesn't make a big difference because it becomes totally wrong when I paste it into notepad. Any correction or feedback is most welcome.

Sorry, it seems to be a problem with Unicode characters. It think the same problem is present with some other languages.

Pantuflo, the installer does not display correctly two romanian letters, Ș and Ț (S and T with comma). This is always caused by lack of full Unicode support.

I have replaced Ș and Ț with Ş and Ţ (S and T with cedilla) in the attached installer file. Usually these two letters are well displayed even without Unicode support. They are not the correct romanian letters (the correct ones are with comma below, not cedilla), but they ressemble closely, so very few will notice the difference.

If you could update the installer with the file attached to this message, I could see if the romanian language version is displayed adequately. Thanks.

Just save the .txt file in Unicode format with Notepad or save it in .doc format, then post it here.

Actually, the language file that I have posted in the thread was written with the correct characters and saved in Unicode format. You can open it in Notepad and you can see the S and T with comma (Ș and Ț).

But I have downloaded the installer for KMP 2.9.3.1430 and you can see in the attached screenshot the question marks instead of the letters ș and ț.

The strings with question marks should be displayed like below:

So the installer is broken from the point of view of romanian. That's why I told you to replace the existing romanian file with the one attached to my previous message.

I have downlaoded 2.9.3.1431 beta (May 8th 2008): and I have found Bosanski language but some letters are not shown correctly.

Only English letters are correct.

Installation doesn't show ani of the following letters: Č, Ć, Đ, Š, Ž

I have saved my translation in unicode format, but inside installation it doesn't look right.

Here is the list of incorrect letters:

It seems to me that you have chosen cyrilic encoding for Bosanski instead of central European

I think this thread should be closed. New license agreement seems not allow repackaging the player. What do you think of it? What about improving the default distribution package? If there is anything better in this package, it can be merged with the default distribution package.

Amicus, is there any error in the part of the installer you translated?

I'm attaching the latest version of Bosanski language included with NSIS (the language file that is used with the installer). Please download and check it (two text files).

If you find any error, you can fix it and I will use those files with the installer... or you can wait NSIS developers team to fix it.

I have found updated installation file and it works.
I have found two minor problems:

1. As you can see on the attached image, label is too small to show entire text (last word in small rounded square is not visibe). Is it possible to enlarge that label or use smaller font?

2. In my language (Bosanski) word THE doesn't exist. So The KMPlayer is simply KMPlayer. You use something as pointers or links in transation file and you pick entire name automatically. So is it possible to translate that name?
