The function "Show The KMPlayer in system tray" isn't working as it was a while ago (don't know from which BETA version forward).
Sometimes when switching from one file to the other, or when a "Can't open or find the file" error or something like that gets shown, the option gets ignored and the program is visible in the Taskbar - I think it's a bug, and it doesn't always appear, so I can't really help you replicate. I do know that the bug is not Vista specific, as I've also caused it on my Windows XP SP2 machine.
If this is perhaps due to the request shown here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), could you add an extra option, like in Winamp, so another checkbox, if the user wants the program to be shown in the Taskbar?
So what I mean is 2 check boxes instead of one:
- Show The KMPlayer in system tray
AND
- Show The KMPlayer in Taskbar
