Hi.. I like KMP and I started to play with it.
First I bought a TRUST (Model NB-5100P USB) remote controll... very economic 10 Euros here in Italy but OK, and I configured the app that coming with it to work with KMP in portable mode (nothing to install).
The buttons not signed have their original function writed under it.

In the attached file you'll find the player, the remote app and the drivers for the infrared receiver, decompress in a folder and don' t change relative path, you can rename the folder but nothing inside if you want it to work.
There are also the drivers 2000/XP/2003 for the receiver.
