A fansub (short for fan-subtitled) is a version of a foreign film or foreign television program which has been translated by fans and subtitled into a language other than that of the original. The most common material to be fansubbed into English is Japanese anime....
1. Make the player superspeed mode (alt+f) or highspeed mode (ctrl+alt+f) ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). In highspeed mode, it is possible to use audio filters. If there is a problem of fluctuating sound while playing back, disable Normalizer (Shift+F2). Normalizer = Auto Volume Control
2. Assuming that the subtitle format is ASS ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), enable the option "External Subtitle Module" in preferences / Subtitle Processing / Multi-Sub / Advanced tab.
3. Use Overlay Mixer or VMR7 Windowed as a video renderer.
Troubleshootings.

2. MKV playback does not smooth - Try Haali's splitter ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
3. Subitles are not sync with Haali renderer - [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Keep in mind that you must try the latest build when you have a problem. ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
Tips.
1. How to define Preferred Audio Stream in MKV/OGM/MP4? ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
2. How to make a storyboard? Right Click on KMP / Capture / Make storyboard...
3. How to change audio stream? Ctrl+X or Click channel info pannel on Skin.
4. How to change subtitle stream? Shift+L or read this ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).
5. How to configure KMP if the characters of subtitles are not displayed correctly? Change Charset ([Only registered and activated users can see links][]=4&query=charset).
6. How to make KMP always on top? Ctrl+T
7. How to use SRS TruSurround XT? ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) There must be a registered version of Cyberlink PowerDVD in your system. In the recent version of PowerDVD, there is no TruSurround XT support in deluxe version. FYI, it is the same technology called SRS WOW used in Windows Media Player series. SRS TruSurround XT is the complete version of SRS WOW. I like it very much as it produces a deep bass sound with high quality.
8. If you don't like the default layout of hotkeys, try this ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).

The screenshot above demonstrates how to display two subtitles at the same time in KMP. One is ass subtitle embedded in mkv, another is smi subtitle which is not embedded. The position of ASS subtitle is being kept within a video frame and SMI subtitle is displayed rightly under a video frame. Conditional Pan & Scan (F2 / Screen Offset / Pan & Scan tab) makes it possible to automatically adjust the vertical postion of a video frame while starting playback (It is the screenshot in fullscreen mode with the resolution of 1280*1024). Of course, VMR9 renderer is used as a video renderer and the subtitle is drawn to VMR9 Surface. ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
