Hey.. ever since I'm using KMPlayer(2.9.3.1428-Latest version) I've got no problems.
But now time has come to write a one..
Anyhow ..
I cannot play .mp4 video files, and when double clicked the movie (.mp4 file) it gets started and Title bar changes to "The Departed [2006-DVDRip-H.264]-NewArtRiot.mp4" as it should be.
My operating system is "Windows Vista Ultimate".
But there is no video but there is audio(but only after waiting about 2min) and when i drag there is ..nothing at all.
here is a screen shot of it..
[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
and here is the screen shot of advanced playback info...
[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
and I've attached the information file that comes with the movie I've downloaded ..plz..check that out..
And further more all of my settings are DEFAULT..
i can play this in VLC Player(tested that the file is corrupted or not ;got no problem in that).
i think I've given u sufficient information...
Can Any Body HELPMEEEEEEEEE!!
I love KMPlayer very much..

And keep on loving it. Unfortunately not enough. Post the Ctrl+tab info here. Did you play similar files before? Is the file available for download?

It is probably a decoder problem. Mentioned before several times.
Libavcodec does not support well "AVC1".
--> Use CoreAVC or something else (the latest ffdshow? I'm not sure).
How to use CoreAVC -> Search FAQ forums. There is a guideline for this.

The reason for ctrl+tab info as opposed to a snapshot is that all necessary info is there. Some have old versions, others components missing etc. Go with advice in post #3 by Mouse.

As u said i have looked into the forum topic and found that i should buy that CoreAVC.This seems very very very.....funny the player i use is free and the decoder for a h264 is not FREE!!!.
Anyhow i found a solution for this using Haali's Splitter settings...
Know i have a doubt is there will be any problems or "Must" I have to Buy that Coreavc thing??
Here is the screen shot of it(for solution-of playing .mp4 files without any other downloads)..

here is the same screen shot of above clip using haali's splitter..

And can U clearly explain "ps. use KMP mp4/mov splitter"
And once again i need to know is it ok.
until now there seems to be no problem!!:D

I have got also an AVC1 movie file and the only solution was to install CoreAVC :(
The latest FFDShow still does not decode AVC1 well

K-Lite codec pack contains CoreAVC. Grab it while it's out there. I've tweaked the ethics filter for that.

It is illegal if CoreAVC is included in codec pack.

Well Mouse, they insist on making it available everywhere - soooo tempting but this VP7 ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) is free and straight from the source.

Ej, CoreAVC contained in actual K-Lite it's registered (cracked?) version.
Some as older QuickTime Alternative it's registered QT Pro with payable additional components.
Older K-Lite (example 1.5.5) contained development/free version CoreAVC (but it's outdated).
CoreCodec not give free version - even trial.
It's similarly relate with few other filters (example Elecard) - actual removed from K-Lite.
Well... K-Lite is free, but doubtful legality (actual only CoreAVC i'm think - some other doubtful filters removed)...

No one answered because we all have our tweeks that work for one but not another or our preferences are different. If haali works for you than why not use it?
