Chinese subtitles issue

Hi,

I'm new here and don't think this issue has been posted up.

I have an avi file and the chinese subtitle file. The subtitles load, but its in symbols and not in Chinese. Can I assume it means that I don't have some Chinese codec, or reader of some sort?

Try to change the subtitles charset in Preferences:

[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])

Another question, is it possible for the subtitle to be automatically played by a DVD player which plays divx?
