KM Player does not like real time streaming protocol (rtsp://) The latest version of real alternate 1.7.5 doesn't work at all, and the previous version 1.7.0 isn't much better. The stream stutters, freezes, and occasionally even locks up my system. [WIn2K SP4]

Meda Player Classic with the KLite codecs seems to work better, but even this program sometimes crashes while playing this protocol.

Do I have to revert to Real Player with all its garbage in order to listen to rtsp on the internet? :(

This is exactly what real media wants and they are doing everything they can, that it stays so.

So what can I do about it?

Well, KMP officially supports Win xp and up, Win 2000 might work good, might not. But there is a problem when MPC+codecs don´t work either.
So if KMP doesn´t work with rtsp://, use Real player or try non-directshow players like Mplayer or VLC.

[sigh] Just downloaded VLC. Even worse. Stuttering sound. I guess I have no choice except Real Player

reuben, I need the streams that you're having problems with. So far I had no problems with BBC.
