Have a movie file - AC3, divx. Everytime I launch it, I get a blue screen. Error is a cmudaxp....sys which is related to my sound card (auzentech meridian)
Things I have tried without success..
-using an older version of the sound card driver
-using the default kmp settings
The file plays perfectly fine in Media player classic so KMP seems to be the common thread. other ac3 divx files play fine in kmp ????
any thoughts ?
Best Regards,
Randall

In Media Player Classic, go to Play -> Filters to see what filters are being used. The audio decoder used or its configuration may be useful.

You can try to check the AC3Filter configuration in KMP, or you can also change the AC3 external decoder to see if it works:

Maybe a wrong codec installed in your system is causing the problem...

Hi there,
I have a very similar sound card (b-Enspirer) and a similar problem: During the game intro movie, UT2k4 would keep crashing to BSOD, stating that cmudaxp.sys was at fault. This had not been the case in the past.
Of the many things I tried, the problem was finally solved with re-installing the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. This uninstalled the old K-Lite Pack, and installed the new pack, with all default options.
This apparently fixed some broken codecs, and all is well now. So really, the fault is a bad codec, which causes cmudaxp.sys to crash.
