Rendering?

There are some videos i've downloaded and go to watch on KMPlayer but a brown 'window' comes up with 'rendering choices' such as 'Old Default', 'VMR7' and 'VMR9', Default and more...i've checked each of these one at a time to see if they'd bring in the video but no go...however i can use 'Xnview' or 'Divx' and the video plays but neither 'Xnview' or 'Divx' have as many funtions as KMPlayer .. any thoughts on this ? ... thanks , John

Try to reset KMP configuration. Install the latest version in a new folder.

What OS are you using? Try to choose a different video renderer in Right click -> Video (Advanced) -> Video Renderer before playing the video.

thanks i'll try that..i think i did the right click thing but i'm a novice at that..i'll do the uninstall , new folder deal and get back to you..i was on some KMplayer related site today where i saw something about KMplayer version ...'rc' which said it's still 'unstable' and almost tried that..but i'll fiddle around with your suggestion...thank you...john

Win2000 might not be fully compatible with KMP (or vice-versa :p ). KMP has been developed and tested on WinXP sp2 and Vista.
But we actually don´t have enough feedback from Win2000 users...
Firstly try the new version of KMP + reset (F2 - reset current preset)

:)That hit me after i posted on here yesterday about not working on '2000 Professional'...yesterday i tried everything suggested including using 1428 and 1214...fiddling with all i could (e.g KMPlayer 0.11.0-rc2) ... i think you 'hit the nail on the head'...i have that minor glitch because i'm using 'Windows 2000 Professional'...right now i'm using version '1214' which seems quite nice to me...i've used both '1428' and '1214' a lot and i'm satisfied with '1214' right now ... it evern seems a wee more stable or something ... thanks, again...john

i installed 1428 then 1430beta but with 1430 this movie played in stops and starts no matter how i rendered but back on 1214 no problem plays without stops and starts ... so far 1214 works the smoothest...must be because i have 2000 Professional which i sure ain't letting go of...the 'crashless system' rings true for me after all i put it through...hasn't blipped in 5 years...lj

jcjs33, thank you for your feedback. So now we know, that the KMP 1214 build is working best for Win2000. So, now we have to find out, which last build worked best on Win98...
