What is it?

Though KMP supports multimedia keyboard, there is an option in preferences, it is needed to get the specified hardware to verify the status of working with. That is, it's hard to answer you correctly.

First of all, thanks for this great player!
I bumped into the same "problem" that eastman did. I guess what eastman meaned was that can we edit the C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\players.ini file (add the kmplayer line) to get our multimedia keys to work with the kmplayer?

Here's the file (Logitech DiNovo):

I know this is an old post, but for anyone using a Logitech keyboard with additional buttons (I have a MX 5000), a easy trick to make your multimedia keys working anywhere with The KMPlayer is enabling "Global Hotkeys" support from the KMP Built-in Winamp Preferences window (Works for me with SetPoint 4.40) (Right click on the program for the Main Control menu and follow the steps on screenshots 1 and 2).

For those, who only want the keys to function when The KMPlayer is focused, do as z said, by enabling Support multimedia keyboard from the Preferences window (See screenshot 3).
