Hi
I've noticed that i have some problems getting the image look like in media player classics even if it it's supposed to look the same. I'm using both Haali's Media Splitter and CoreAVC codec to render a x264 video. Followed the tutorials on configuring the kmplayer to work with both and it indeed shows on the playing info.
The thing that puzzles me is that if i open the same file in MPC the image has more contrast, and by comparison the kmplayer one looks almost washed out.
I've attached screenshots for reference
By the way, apart of haali's splitter and CoreAVC i have no other codecs installed on my system. No plugins, filters or ther enhancements are activated in kmplayer's options (i even set all the settings to default to make sure, then just configured haali's and coreavc)
Thanks in advance

Video renderer should be different or level filter seems to be used in MPC.

Both renderers are VMR9 (Renderless). I've looked every setting in MPC and i dont see any level filters.. i just installed it today therefore the settings are completelly vanilla. I don't have ffdshow installed btw.

I couldn't find any differences though as you can see my screenshots.

There is a visible difference on my screen. in this animation the images are obv downsampled, but maybe you can see it better this way:

That is your screenshot. I can see that. :) I think there is something different between the players though I'm not sure what it is.
Remove this in filter chains.. (alt+f)
3) - KMP Video Transform
Check VMR options are same such as vmr mixing mode etc.
Procamp in shader filter of MPC is a level filter too. Shader filter must be disabled in MPC.
Check the property widnow of coreavc in each player. CoreAVC has an ability to control levels.

Found the "problem": The images created by kmplayer's capture tool were actually clearer than the video outputted. Just now took a screenshot via printscreen and found that the levels are the same as in MPC.. silly me :o
At first there was an actual difference in the video but even after i solved it polishing the options i kept seeing a difference, because i kept comparing the screenshots.. lol
Thanks anyway for your input :)
Cheers

Ah... That's a known problem. Use a bmp or png capture instead. It can be configured in preferences.
