Crossfading and Gapless Playback are not the same. Both features would be nice.

Gapless playback, like most other players have, would make KMP the best audio player out there. In the meantime, I have to use WinAmp.

Please, add this feature!!!

Please search forums before posting!!! There was an answer for this.

mouse,
I did search the forums, and I read several posts. They all say the same thing - most everyone wants this feature. That's why I posted my request in the "Features Request" section!!!

mgilbert, don't get me wrong.

I think it won't be implemented as KMP is mainly a video player. Should I pick up the posting explaining this? Please do not repeat yourself as it was one of the issues repeated many times before. It looks like a spam.

I know it has been repeated several times. IMHO, I felt it was time to make the request again. I know it is mainly a video player, but, except for this one feature, it is an excellent audio player. And, how hard can it be to add this feature? Why not just do it???

AFAIK, it is almost impossible to add the feature in dshow based player.

except for this one feature, it is an excellent audio player
Well, I think it just fits for your taste. There are miles to go if it is for playing audio files IMO. In fact, it's really hard to understand those who are trying to use video players as an audio player. KMP only has a simple feature set of playing audio files. If you're serious for playing audio files, why not stick to winamp or anything else? If you do not use KMP to play video files, please take into consideration again to use the player.

I've written little code myself, so, perhaps it is more difficult than I would have thought. My needs are pretty straightforward with respect to audio players. i generally right click on a folder of music, and send the whole folder to a play list.

Winamp is quite good. I'd just like to have one player for both video and audio. Winamp does not handle video well.

Ok guys, that is enough :)
I personally use AIMP2 as my audio player of choice, but I can also understand others, who want to use KMP as an audio player. This arguing goes nowhere. KMP has a new developer now and we do not know, if he wants to implement this feature. Some users should hope, kmpkmp looks inside feature request forum ;)

I didn't consider this conversation an argument. Just a spirited and educational exchange. Sorry if I offended.

kmplayer uses far less resources than most other audio players, and i like being able to play a group of audio files (usually flac) without having to add it to program like foobar or itunes, and i do not want to use winamp because its default aestheitcs are horrible (kmplayer is SEXY) and besides that, I'd rather not install a ton of software on my machine that i shouldnt really need.

gapless playback is a definate REQUEST from me.

kmplayer ftw :D

I used KMP for video files. Now I'm using it for audio and video playback. MP stands for Media Player and this is what I use it for.

I don't understand those who use KMP to watch their pictures. KMP can handle pictures, but I don't use KMP as picture viewer. (i don't use my picture viewer as media player although it supports it)

Make "Mind the gap" useless.... remove the gap ;)

I'd also like to see gapless audio playback.

Calling KMP just a video player is selling it short.

I used Winamp for years before it got ruined by AOL. I've tried jetaudio, sonique, foobar2000, itunes and most of the other commercial players, and a dozen other things. Nothing ever took over from Winamp as the up-to-date lightweight, small, easy to use audio player.

Similarly for video, I used Zoom Player for years, and it became harder and harder to keep it working properly for everything I want to be able to do. Finally struck out and started trying other things -- Gomplayer, jetaudio, BSplayer, Core MP, MPC, VLC, and the "store included" options (WMP, Real, etc.) and found everything to be buggy or bloated or difficult to use.

When I found KMPlayer, I was thrilled. Everything defaults to the way I like it, it'll play just about any video format with no glitches or hassle, and it doesn't suck for audio.

Most players out there are either too big and aggravating to use for audio, or really suck at video. Doing both well is really something to be proud of.

So if the consensus on gapless audio is "it's a video player, so shut up", I'm not at all impressed.

I see that KM Player has the option to play video's gapless, but when I try this, it doensn't work in a way it should run. I would like to playback up to 10 videos. However it'll only ever play the 1st 2 video's, despite still showing markers on the progress bar for however many videos I've selected in preferences, and simply freezes on the the final image of the 2nd video, despite the progress bar continuing. Somewhere else in this forum some-one wrote that he didn't have the problem anymore after "tweaking" te settings. But I can't find those settings. Can someone help me out?
