Hi,
So, I use KMPlayer and love it. Recently however, I have installed Rise of Nations (it's a game), and several things happened. First, the videos inside the game don't run. Second, when opening video files in KMPlayer (latest build - 2.9.3.1428), it seems to recognize the video codec (at least it displays the correct name in the bottom right-hand corner), sizes the windows for the file's actual size, and plays the audio fine - but it does not play the video. Instead, it's a black constant image.
This is the case for all major videos - avi, wmv, mpg, probably others too. In fact, I haven't yet found a file that it would play.
I am fairly sure that installing Rise of Nations did have something to do with it. It's a somewhat old game, so the support forums for it are not extremely active, so I figured I'd have better luck here.
Win XP SP2, ATI Radeon 9700 is the video card.
So what do I do? I don't understand extremely well what the internal workings of the rendering system is, so while I suspect that installing the game overrode some library that KMP was using - I wouldn't know how to fix it. Help?
