hi there,

I'm not sure what it is........but when I open a MKV file from DVD, it starts to play, then the drive makes weird noises for a few seconds like KMP was trying to read the movie and *at the same time* read the header infos for Mediainfo ?!

I haven't found any way to disable this behavior.

I just want it to read the files, and look for mediainfo stuff if I want to.............not automatically :(

can someone move this to the feature requests please ?

it's VERY annoying when I play a .MKV from a DVD.

I have to pause the playback for 10 seconds so it can retrieve the mediainfo stuff.

I DON'T CARE FOR MEDIAINFO!!! :(

it makes my drives do all kind of weird noises because it tries simultaneously to play the movie and look up the specs of the file :(

So... if you delete mediainfo.dll from KMP folder, you don't have that problem, right?

What KMP version are you using?

latest from kmpkmp

I tried to delete mediainfo.dll, it still spins the drive like crazy ?!

problem doesn't occur with MPC HC.

you can try on a burned MKV on a DVD :(

ok problem doesn't occur with 1429

gonna try 1430 and 1431

BTW, the KMP Video Transform filter suffers from the chroma upsampling bug as explained here :
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

the only way to avoid it is to check "high quality YV12 to RGB conversion" in ffdshow.

KMP doesn't have that option, so the red is pixelated to death with that test .mkv I put on doom9
