Nobodey knows how to do this? By getting a new folder in My Documents after I have seen a video is very annyoing and I am actually starting to look for a new media player due to this problem only.

Does KMP create it during playback?
I personally do not see this as a problem.

It's probably because of UAC in vista. The folder is not under my documents in xp.

Every time KMP starts i creats the folder and yes I am using Windows Vista with UAC activated. If I delete the folder it will be created during the next playback.

I see it as a problem since I do not want to have any "dead" folders in My Documents, I like it clean and tidy.

Have tested both a couple of older KMP-versions and the latest one avalible here.

I have Win xp sp2 and KMP is not creating any folder (not even a hidden one) in My documents. Maybe it is Vista specific.

In Vista, KMPlayer folder in Documents is created even if UAC is disabled (and no matter where KMP is installed).

These are the folders that are created:

Documents
|-KMPlayer
|-Capture
|-Logo
|-Playlist

If you select another capture folder in KMP settings, you can avoid the capture folder, but "logo" and "playlist" can't be removed.

Yes that is what I am experience. I have tried looking in the registry for a parameter to change without any luck. Are there any plans to fix this bug?

This is probably not a bug, but by design. I do not know, if kmpkmp plans to change this behavior.

On XP this folders are not created.

If you just want your "My Documents" folder to be "clean and tidy" you can make the logo and playlist folder invisible/hidden. This should be possible under Vista... it should I can't tell. It's not the best solution. The folders are still there but you can't see them

As I said, this is because of the UAC of vista. The folder is maintained under the KMP folder on XP. I think it would be better if the folders could be maintained in the folder: C:/Users/your account/AppData/Roaming.

Yes. I guess this would be a better location for the folders.
(Vista seems to be problematically under some circumstances, so I use XP)

Yes that is what I would like too. It is very annoying to get an unwanted folder in my backups, and I do not like programs doing things I have not asked them to do :)

So no plans on changing this behavior?

I deactivated the UAC in Windows Vista and nothing changed.
Every time I use KMplayer a new folder is created inside the same folder where the media file is. If the media file is in desktop, a new folder is created in desktop. If the media file is in My music folder, a new folder is created in My music folder. And that keeps on for every time I use it.

For another data point, I'm using XP w/ SP3 and this folder is created each time as well. So I don't think it's a Vista-only issue.

Thanks for a great player! :)

1431 does not generate this file in XP SP3. It's generated because of AlbumArt.

I had the same problem with v2.9.3.1431.

The newer v2.9.3.1433 does not create the 'kmplayer' folder(s) :)

Strange, for me, the previous version 1431 does not generate it.

But the new version 2.9.4.1433 does...
