View Full Version : Stuttering Audio with default audio renderer

Hi there, i'm still getting my head round some of the KMPlayer menus, perhaps someone could help me with this one?

In case it's important, my media centre PC's onboard sound is connected to a Denon AV amp via 3 phono>minijack cables. I have 5 speakers connected to this amp, but no sub.

I recently realised that when playing files with 2 channel audio, the 2 front channels were duplicated in the rear channels. I managed to fix this by switching the audio renderer from whatever it was set to before (i forget) to Realtek HD Audio (my onboard soundchip).

However, after doing this, files with 5.1 audio pop and stutter terribly. I've fiddled with configuring both internal and external audio decoders, but to no avail.

Files with 5.1 audio play file with either directsound or waveout selected as the audio renderer - but then my 2 channel files (with MP3 or AAC audio) come out all 4 speakers again!

Am i doing something wrong here, or is somehting buggered in my setup?

Thanks very much for your help!

Oh, i'll attach this report from a Battlestar Galactica x264.

[EDIT] Oops! looks like the directshow renderer is the one that should be enabled - and i've worked out how to output to 5 speakers properly! sorry to bother you!
