Many LCD TVs have a 1366x768 resolution. When you watch a 1080p movie the player will resize the image from 1920 to 1366 pixels. When you watch a 720p movie in fullscreen, the player will resize the image from 1280 to 1366 pixels. My question is, how should one resize the image for best picture quality? Should we go to Video Processing -> Oversampling, and specify the size of our TV ? And also, when we increase/decrease the frame size using the +/- Numpad keys, how is the picture quality affected ?

I prefer lanczos resizer as it shows quiet good quality. It is widely being used for the purpose of pixel matching output in a large screen. There is a simple guide in the resizing part of preferences.

Thank you. I suppose that Lanczos resizing improves the picture of DVDs, but would you say it also improves (or at least maintains) the quality of HD material ?
