I have found a possibility for VLC users to access movies on Blu-ray discs. Here is a short summary in English:
*
With AnyDVD-HD, VLC can access Blu-ray discs. The movie on the disc is in an M2TS container and has a structure similar to the one of a transportation stream of digital television. This is why VLC can open it. If it works, it will play the video, because there are free decoders available for all three formats, AVC, VC-1, and MPEG2.
There are no free decoders for the new audio formats such as DTS-HD. Exception: A Dolby-Digital-Plus filter for the FFmpeg codec collection is being developed, but it is only suitable for coding experts.
It is not possible to accesss menus and specials of the Blu-ray disc. To do so, a filter would be necessary.

My questions:
1. Has anyone already been successful in accessing Blu-ray movies in the way described above (I have no Blu-ray equipment, so I cannot test it myself)?
2. Would it be possible to do that with KMP, too, or add this possibility to KMP?
Many greetings,

A Friend
